Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress. Her most well-known work is playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. After the conclusion of the seventh season the series was cancelled on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapy therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, the venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, of English descent. Sedgwick identifies herself as Jewish and has said that she participates in Passover seders.
