Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. She is both the first female vice-president as well as the highest ranking female official of the United America. She is a senator and former US senator who represents California. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Then, she was hired by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. Harris was elected Attorney general of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 until 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. As a senator, Harris advocated for healthcare, federal de-scheduling and legalization of cannabis as a pathway to citizenship of undocumented immigrants, and the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. National attention was gained for her outspoken questions of Trump administration officials at Senate hearings. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct.
